The most breathtaking location on the island, tucked between the twin peaks of the famous Pitons and cushioned by luscious foliage, The Jalousie Plantation is a long time favourite both in terms of quality and charm. The recently renovated villas, furnished to the highest standards, are the first step in an exciting investment programme.
Location
Once an 18th century sugar mill, the historic origins of The Jalousie Plantation lend a charming sense of the past to the resort's present day style and charisma. Nestling in the shady woodland is the centrepiece - a neo-colonial mansion with tranquil garden veranda - and in front, the towering Pitons, framed by a blue expanse of Caribbean Sea. Take a tip from the jet set and arrive by helicopter for the ultimate jaw dropping views.
Accommodation
Accommodation is mostly in gingerbread style villas - many with private plunge pools - poised along the hillside amidst 192 acres of rainforest. The resort is vast, so chose carefully - the suites set up top are perfect for total seclusion at the hands of nature, with only the chirping tree frogs for company, but if you want to be close to the beach and main building with its swimming pool and restaurants, opt for one of the Sugar Mill Suites.
Dining Out
Add to this a quarter mile of pristine white sands and water so clear you can see your reflection in it, plus a number of restaurants from casual waterside dining to more formal gourmet options. Evenings are fairly quiet, but you'll never tire of admiring the view here, especially at sunset.
Activities
And there's an excellent spa that does treatments both indoors and outdoors and a Kid's Club, not forgetting the fact that Jalousie Bay is home to Saint Lucia's National Marine Park, with PADI instruction for beginners and experts.
