Urban sophistication meets Caribbean cool at this new hillside resort - a yachtsman's haven with breathtaking views across beautiful Marigot Bay and right next door to a flourishing marina. Striking rooms, 2 lovely pools (one with swim up bar), great dining options and a fabulous spa.
Please note: This hotel will be closed for refurbishment between 30 August - 1 November 2009.
Location
Dr Doolittle knew what he was talking about when he visited Marigot Bay, described by author James A Michener as "the most beautiful bay in the Caribbean" and an idyllic location for the famous film. Located on the north west of the island, this contemporary new hotel is a yachtsman's paradise, perfectly placed over the lush hillside and right on the water's edge.
Accommodation
Rooms and suites are jaw dropping and very much of the now - white walls, dark wood furniture, king size beds and slate tiled bathrooms with sumptuous Contemporel products. Suites also have kitchenettes kitted out with state-of-the-art Italian appliances and spacious dining areas. Great views too - with large private balconies (some of which have outdoor Jacuzzis) all overlooking the bay. A two minute ferry ride takes you to the small beach, where you can snorkel, swim and sunbath.
Activities
There are two freshwater swimming pools - one larger with a swim-up bar serviced by friendly staff, and a smaller, infinity pool with stunning views of the bay, plus a children's pool. And spa junkies should check out the full service Lapli Spa & Fitness Centre for pampering ESPA treatments and relaxation.
Dining Out
There are a number of dining options too. Hurricane Hole for flip flops, lazy cocktails and delicious fresh fish with huge rum barrel tables and rustic decking - perfectly placed to gaze at glamorous yachts. And it's the Pink Snail Bar for champagne and city chic before dining at the elegant Boudreau Restaurant.
