A deservedly popular hotel with an elegant yet informal ambience. Luxurious poolside rooms, sunning gardens and a long list of facilities and activities for people who like action, sumptious sun loungers for people who don't!
The flagship property in the Elegant Hotels Group, Colony Club has a distinct flavour of traditional Caribbean - a clever combination of classic, grand Barbados without being too formal. In fact, these days, the interiors are more contemporary in design, mixed with state of the art amenities for a timeless elegance.
Accommodation
Four fresh water swimming pools, set out in lagoon fashion, meander through 7 acres of tropical gardens down to the beach, where the Sunset Bar is the perfect point from where to watch the mysterious 'green flash' as the Caribbean sun melts into the sea. If you're staying in one of the luxury poolside rooms, you have your own private steps into the pool too. There is a charming colonial ambience here, which extends to the rooms and suites, gracefully furnished and with whitewashed wooden ceilings, some even have four posters.
Activities
Colony Club boasts some of the comfiest sun loungers ever - single or double beds which you just sink into and where you could happily stay all day. If you can tear yourself away, there is an excellent watersports centre with some of the best on the island and all included in the price.
Dining Out
The Orchid Room is fine dining at its best and the famous Lobster & Jazz night, a highlight of the week attracting a really buzzy crowd from all over the island. For a change, try the menus of other hotels with whom the Colony Club share a dine around programme, including London's famous Daphnes restaurant at The House.
