Overview
Cocooned from the outside world, the philosophy at Settlers Beach is peace and simplicity. It offers both the independence of villa living and low key hotel style services and facilities, but omits the more traditional activities and entertainment found in some Caribbean hotels, something which fans are more than happy to forgo.
And of course, you're on the famous Platinum Coast, so the buzz and glamour of Barbados is right on your doorstep for the best of both worlds.
22 villas are neatly arranged in clusters in a horseshoe around 4 acres of attractive gardens, beyond which lies your idyllic Caribbean beach. Decorated in whites and neutral tones, they are easy on the eye and easy to relax in. Each comes with a fully fitted kitchen and open plan living/dining area; some have private courtyards, others balconies.
It's suitable for couples, families with children or small groups of friends, who enjoy the sociable element of villa accommodation.
There's a gorgeous swimming pool, and an independently run bar and restaurant on the beach. Add to this unobtrusive service and a friendly atmosphere and you've got a superb small hotel with a big personality.

Golf
The nearest golf course is Royal Westmoreland GC.
It is 10 minutes by car.
Golf doesn't get much better than at Royal Westmoreland's world-class 18-hole championship golf course - a 6,870 yard par 72 course of unrivalled beauty, with views of the shimmering ocean from every hole, and a layout to test every club in your bag.
US Masters Champion Ian Woosnam - a homeowner at Royal Westmoreland - says the par 3s are some of the best he's played anywhere in the world. Bunkers abound, but considerable use has been made of the natural environment, with the 5th and 6th holes using an old coralstone quarry, and the 12th par 3 challenging the lowest of handicaps with its tight green bordering a ravine. Each hole has several tees to accommodate every level of play.
At the heart of the golf course stands the elegant, colonial-style Clubhouse with sweeping views over the emerald fairways to the deep blue Caribbean Sea. This is home to the Clubhouse Restaurant and golf pro shop with an extensive range of golf equipment, clothing and merchandise.
The 'Halfway House' by the ninth green is open daily from 6:30am to 4:30pm and serves a variety of light snacks and thirst quenching drinks. Water stations serving ice-cold water are also located throughout the golf course.
The Royal Westmoreland golf course is for Royal Westmoreland guests, members and residents, with a small number of tee-times between 10:20am and 11:00am available for visitors, subject to availability.
Green fees for visitors cost approx. 500 Barbados Dollars for 18 holes including golf cart.
